Ann Curry and Blake Shelton on 'Today'While Blake Shelton performed Friday on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC), his wife Miranda Lambert was over at 'Good Morning America' doing her own thing. That led to a Tweet war over whose performance more people would be watching. Today anchor Ann Curry brought up the exchanges, and Shelton said Lambert was performing on "The Weather Channel or something."

"We've been popping off back and forth," said Shelton. "She says she wins because she has boobs. And she has a point. Can't argue with that." Not that Shelton would miss the opportunity to argue. He said he has a somewhat secret weapon. "She underestimates my moobs," he said.

Shelton prefaced his remarks by saying that, "getting married is by far the most crucial, pivotal, best thing that's ever happened to me." And he played his song 'Honey Bee,' which he can claim he was singing to Lambert if he gets into trouble later.

Bryan Cranston talks about 'Breaking Bad' and 'Larry Crowne' on 'The View'Every actor has to recreate themselves, in a sense, when they are playing a character. Bryan Cranston has a bit more experience at that then most. On 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC), Cranston talked about his character arc on 'Breaking Bad,' and transitioning from that character, a meth dealer/cancer patient, to playing Julia Roberts' husband in 'Larry Crowne.'

Playing Walter White is the big challenge, according to Cranston -- going from "Mr. Chips to Scarface," as his showrunner likes to say. "This is a show that's attempting to do something that's never been done in the history of television," he said. "And that's starting a character out as one type of person and over the course of the series, he's completely changed."

And if you're wondering, Cranston said there will be no going back. "There's no redemption for him," he said.

When Cranston got the call for 'Larry Crowne,' he was still in full Walter White mode, and thought he looked more like Roberts' father than her husband. He was afraid the audience wouldn't think they belonged together, so he plunged himself into a massive makeover and exercise program, which he found surprisingly enjoyable. "I had a mani-pedi," he said. "It was fantastic."

Ben Cauley was the sole survivor of the plane crash that took the lives of Otis Redding and four members of the Bar-Kays, the singer's backing band. The trumpeter still has nightmares about regaining consciousness in the cold water of the Wisconsin lake where the plane went down. Was he afraid to fly after the accident?

"No, no," the Memphis musician tells Spinner. "Matter of fact, I flew back home after the crash."

Cauley is a true soul survivor, as are several of the members of the Bo-Keys, a "new" band that's already been around about a decade. Guitarist Charles "Skip" Pitts played the famous wah-wah intro on Isaac Hayes's 'Theme from "Shaft",' and drummer Howard Grimes, a longtime member of the Hi Records rhythm section, got started at Stax at age 12.

Sometimes dreams do come true, even in the wicked world of Westeros.
A few weeks ago, we posted our wish list of which actors and actresses we'd like to see playing the new pivotal roles in season two of "Game of Thrones," and today, one of our wishes was granted: just as we hoped and predicted, [...]

The Montreal Jazz Festival is known as one of the great jazz festivals in the world, thanks to the fact that it brings in world-class talent from everywhere. Running from June 25 to July 4, the 32nd annual Festival International de Jazz de Montreal had keynote performances by Tony Bennett, the new Return to Forever quintet lineup, Sade, Pink Martini and others, but one of the truly wonderful parts of Montreal's festival is the free music presented around the four-square-block festival grounds that is located between downtown and several historic districts.

Each year, the festival puts together a thousand performances that range from student bands to music legends. The festival has seven clubs, two large theaters and five outdoor stages that dot over the festival grounds. On the plaza at the center between the Downtown Hyatt, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier theater and Theatre Maisonneuve is a variety of temporary restaurants, food stands, children's play areas and seating for just chilling out. On a warm summer afternoon or evening, you can walk the grounds eating, drinking and listening to your hearts content. There are small booths hosting live radio broadcasts, CD stores and intimate performances (We saw Esperanza Spalding playing a small side stage for free just a few years ago).

Casey Anthony's attorney Jose Baez on 'The View'Casey Anthony's attorney Jose Baez said Thursday on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) that he doesn't think the general public understands Anthony or the trial, and that he fears for Anthony's safety in the wake of the "not guilty" verdict. Baez spoke with Barbara Walters in a sit-down interview segment.

Walters asked Baez if he was worried about Anthony's safety in light of the public antagonism against her. "I am," he said. "I'm afraid for her. I don't think it's fair. I don't think the general public has a real good grasp of what happened in this case."

The Black Lips may be responsoible for kickstarting the garage-rock movement in the US, but Mujeres is spreading that rough-hewn gospel across Spain.

Formed in 2007, this Barcelona quartet met at film school, where they bonded over a shared love of vintage rock and punk. They started off writing soundtracks to their various film projects. Nevermind that only one of them could play an instrument?they?ve got that vibe thing that people talk about.

Taking their cues from the Black Lips, they originally adopted a ?play any show? mentality. Before long they had a set of raucous songs and a loyal following that would turn up to every gig, be it in a dingy dive bar or South By SouthWest. We caught up with the band for drinks before a wild set at Barcelona?s Apollo Theater.

Listening to the D.C.-based duo Bluebrain, it should come as no surprise that the band is big on high-concept presentations for their art. The brothers behind the music, Ryan and Hays Holladay, combine their efforts to craft intricate pop woven with dense electronic backdrops, rippling drums and sharp contrasts of electric and acoustic guitar. It is a sound that practically demands a similarly lofty presentation to bring it to the public attention.

Well, you can't get much more high concept than what the brothers Holladay have come up with for their most recent album. Dubbed 'The National Mall,' their new work is what they call a "location-aware album." Only available as an app for your smartphone, the listener gets to hear the different songs on it by moving through the National Mall in Washington D.C., the expanse of land that runs from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol Building and flanked on either side by museums, memorials and other historic landmarks.

Seth Gordon Horrible BossesEveryone can relate to having had a horrible boss at one time or another, and director Seth Gordon believes that the Warner Bros Pictures' comedy Horrible Bosses will hit home for just about anyone who's ever held down a job. Gordon even admitted he had one in our exclusive interview: "Of course. I feel bad but Peggy, who was my boss when I was a dishwasher at an old folks' home, was the worst micromanager. No dish was ever clean enough, let me say that. I didn't survive that job for long."

The official Horrible Bosses synopsis: For Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day), the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses (Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston) into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con (Jamie Foxx), the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers...permanently. There's only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them.
